Kodiak Bears- Discussion Starters and IMPORTANT links
Discussion Starters-
Important Links-
This is one of my favorite links. It will give you a brief summary in all different fields including management, a "Get Involved" page and more:
http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=brownbear.triviaThis link is to a website commonly known, but helpful if you know hot to sort out fact from fiction:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodiak_bear
This link is to a very trusted website. I didn't add it into my "Resource Key" because this was one of last websites I looked at, and didn't give me any information I didn't know from other sites. But, for a basic overview this is a highly respected site:

- Would it be a smart idea to conduct studies about intelligence and all-around nature of a Kodiak bear? Would we benefit from it?
- Kodiak bears, although not endangered, are a small subspecies. Should there be breeding programs to "up" their numbers? Or should Kodiak bears stay as a smaller subspecies?
- Kodiak Bears are a small subspecies only found in the Alaskan Archipelago. Should the Kodiak bears be introduced to other places? If so, where?
- Kodiak bears are not commonly found in zoos, but, sometimes they are found in zoos where they are "labeled" as brown bears of grizzly bears. Because of Kodiak Bears small numbers, should they be put in zoos? Animals in general, should the be put in zoos? Especially endangered species.
- Are breeding programs a good way to multiply the population? Or no hunts? Discuss a way that Kodiak bears' numbers could go up. To differentiate between the second question, this discussion question should be more related to breeding programs VS. no hunts, tally up the results and discuss both possibilities.
- Since Kodiak bears are a small subspecies, should there be hunts? Discuss your views on hunting of Kodiak bears, bears, or even animals in general.
